Happy birthday baby
Hey all! Ok, so I haven't posted for a LOOOONNNGGGG time. But it's been just SO nice outside, we've basically been living outside. Matthew's having a blast playing with the next-door neighbor girl, and Hannah's playing baby games with the neighbor's baby girl (she's 6 months older than Hannah, and can walk. Hannah just stares in amazement at her. She's TINY tho-same size as Hannah). And Tim is having a great time playing with Tony, who's our neighbor. Tony bought a BB gun also, and they're playing shooting games in the back yard while the older kids "build a bird's nest" in the front yard using dirt, dead grass, and sticks. And the babies are just having fun crawling/walking around in the front yard. And I'm trying to collect all the "frickles" (prickles, or as they're more commonly known as, gumballs from gum trees) and tossing them into the street so the kids don't crawl/step on them. :) Cuz they HURT when you step on them!
Hmmm...Matthew's been going to the bathroom all by himself for a while now. Phew. We still haven't attempted to sleep thru the night without a pull-up on (yet), but he's staying dry for longer and longer now. So it won't be long!
He keeps saying that he wants to go to school with Cierra (our neighbor's little girl). She's 5. So I'm trying to get him into preschool next year. But I don't know if I missed the "sign-up" deadline. So we might just have to wait until next year to put him in.
Hannah's one year old now. Her birthday was Thursday. And she didn't even get any treats for her birthday. In fact, she had to go to the doctor! Since Tim was getting out on Friday, we had to get her one year appointment in, and that's when they had an opening. So we went, and she got measured and stuck with needles (5 shots! Poor baby). But, her stats are good.
Birth height: 20 1/4 inches
1 year height: 30 1/2 inches
Birth weight: 7lbs, 3.6oz
1 year weight: 20lbs, 2.8oz
When did my baby get so BIG?! She's almost a full-fledged toddler. All she needs to do now is start walking! WAAHH!!
Nothing too exciting on her front, she tried to stand up once, but got half-way up, got stuck, then lowered herself back down. She can stand by herself as long as she doesn't know she's doing it. As soon as she realizes that she's not holding onto anything or anyone, she freaks out and sits back down.
She plays peek-a-boo, and not even with anyone, really. She LOVES sticking blankets, shirts, whatever on her head, and just crawls around shrieking in pleasure. If someone pulls it off of her, saying "There's Hannah!" she glares at you, and puts it back on her head. So cute. She also talks on the phone. Tries to hold it up to her ear and just babbles away. I love that little girl.
We're having her birthday party tomorrow. Nanna and Grandy are coming (it's at their house, actually), as well as Jeannie and crew, Katie, Tater and Ji-Ji, and Carrie, maybe her hubby John, and their kids Cara and Albie (who's a month younger than Hannah). :) I'm making cupcakes for everyone, and going to have cheese/salsa dip with tortilla chips and a veggie platter. Yum. I can't wait.
And Tim is officially out of the Navy now. He's still applying for jobs, but hasn't gotten any offers (ok, I take that back. He got one offer, but it was in Baltimore, and we wouldn't have been able to live on what he would be making. So he turned it down). I'm not stressing TOO much (yet), so I'm just sitting back and letting Tim deal with it. :)
I'll take pics of the party tomorrow, and blog about it either tomorrow night or Monday.
