The Potty Rebellions

The boy's potty trained, but now we have to worry about the (extraordinarily stubborn) girl. It's getting to be the time to potty train again!

Dare I say it?

Could we possibly be nearing the end of (daytime at least) potty training?? I think I see the end of the tunnel!
Matthew's been in underpants-only during the day for the past 3 days, and has only had a couple of accidents on the first day. He now goes pee on the (BIG!) potty when he needs to go, and LETS ME KNOW when he has to go! YAE!! And he ALSO goes BY HIMSELF! WHOO HOO! Oh, praise the Lord, I think we're nearing the end. How exciting! *doing the potty dance* :)

Sick babies

And yes, I'm including my 3 year old in that title. My poor babies are sick. But surprisingly enough, they're VERY cheerful for being so sick!!!

Matthew, about a week and 1/2 ago, had this really phlemmy cough, and fever. We forged thru it w/o going to the doctor (although I was tempted, I figured I was just being a paranoid mommy) ;) , and it seemed as though he was getting better. Then on Wednesday afternoon, Hannah spiked a fever, and got the same cough as her brother. ARG. Thursday, she seemed to get worse, and on Friday, was even sicker. And then Matthew spiked his fever again, and the cough came back to him.

So off to the doctor we went. But wait! Tim had duty on Friday, so of course we COULDN'T go, b/c he had the Jeep, and my car is STILL not working. Ugh. So I called my mom, and she came out and got us. We finally left here about 8:00 Friday night, and got to the ER at 9ish. We were seen by 10:00, and as soon as the dr came in the room and looked in Matthew's ears, he said "I know why you guys are here!" He asked if Matthew had been complaining about his ears, or tugging at them or anything, and I told him no. Turns out my boy is quite a trooper, b/c he has not one, but a DOUBLE ear infection. :( So he was prescribed some ammoxicilin (YUMMY!). Then the doctor looked in Hannah's ears, and she has a single ear infection, PLUS she has early bronchiolitis. So she's on Ammoxicilin, and an inhaler for her nasty cough. I have to put Vicks on her and Matthew at night, and use a cool mist humidifier in Hannah's room.

So, we're stuck indoors until they fight off this bug that's plaguing them. Poor babies. :(

Ahh...Christmas is officially over

Well, Christmas is officially over. Tim's back at work (well, he's been at work for a while now, but still). :) The big thing is that the Christmas tree is down. *sigh* But it had to be done. I got the "cleaning bug", so I figured since I don't normally get it, that I might as well take advantage of it. LOL.

Matthew's going thru a "terrible 3's" faze. Not too much fun for me! He does like to help me clean tho. He has his own little vaccuum, and whenever I get my vaccuum out, he runs and grabs his also. Which is sweet. :) He follows me every time I vacuum. LOL.
His toy car (that he can sit in and ride) is broken. We're all very bummed about that. Part of the wheel busted, and it's hanging on by just one part still. We're hoping that Daddy can fix it tho (that's what daddies are there for, right? Fixing things?).

Hannah's being a little pill still also (wow, rhyming much?). She's decided that she doesn't want to sleep now. UGH. But of course, she can't be HAPPY being awake. OY! She wants to be held at all times. So she gets to cry in her bed until she's asleep. Which luckily only takes about 5 minutes until she's snoozin' away. :)

Well, little miss is awake again, and little man is wanting to use a REAL hammer (yes, Grandma sent him a small, but real hammer for Christmas. Thanks? :) ) to fix his car, so I must get back to real life. Will update later with pics of my 2 sweetiepies!

Crawling? What???

First off, WOW. I had SEVERE issues with logging in here to update my blog! HAHA. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, I have 3 log-in names. And I was using the wrong ones to sign in with! So I couldn't find my blog. I was getting very upset, but finally I thought to try the correct one. Ta-da! Success! YAE!! :)

So on to my blog. To start out with, Matthew's taking 2 steps forward, 1 step back with the whole potty training experiment. He now doesn't want to sit on his little potty, but the big people potty. Ok, fine. But he's stopped telling us when he has to go, he only tells us when he has ALREADY gone. *sigh* Oh well, live and learn. So we're SLOWLY working on it...hopefully by the time Hannah's starting to be potty trained, Matthew will finally be done. HAHA. Ok, I know this is a little exadurated, but not by much! :)

On to Hannah. Well, on December 17, she figured out how to become mobile! YAE! So I now have to rope off the living room to keep her in here. I also have to make sure there is no paper, or little pieces of "things" that she can injest. Yes, we've had some "interesting" diapers lately, needless to say. :) Her favorite is definitely paper tho.
She also has decided that since she's mastered crawling (for a whole 2 weeks, mind you!), it's off to bigger and better things. Which for my mobile princess means pulling up and trying to walk! She's figured out how to pull up (on New Years Eve!), but hasn't gotten the whole walking thing down (or, for that matter, getting back DOWN after pulling herself up!). So she gets in the pulled-up position, and starts crying for a knight in shining armor (or a nice mommy or daddy) to save her from falling down. :)
She's also been a BEAR these past 2 months, but we now know why! She's been teething, and teething HARD. She popped out 2 teeth on New Years Day! Happy New Year-2 teefers! YAE!!!
