The Potty Rebellions

The boy's potty trained, but now we have to worry about the (extraordinarily stubborn) girl. It's getting to be the time to potty train again!

Bye bye hubby!

Well, tomorrow, I'm becoming a single mom, for about 6 weeks (so far at least). My hubby is being deployed, and so I get to handle both kids by myself for 6 weeks. :( What in the world are we going to do w/o him? It's been so nice with him here, because he's been putting Matthew to bed every night, and giving me "baby time" with Hannah. Which ALSO means potty training will be SO much more fun. Ugh.

On the potty training front, I asked Matthew whether or not he wanted to sit on the potty, and go pee pee or poop, and he said no. I told him that he could get a treat if he pooped or peed on the potty, and he wasn't into that either. What kid turns down chocolate, just for sitting on the potty?? Geez. Of course, I get the stubborn one. *sigh*
Oh, and he woke up last night, SOAKED in his diaper. I mean, I had to get up and change his sheets-he soaked it thru THAT badly. UGH! I didn't think I'd have to worry about waking up and changing sheets until AFTER he was trained! :(

Let's see, Hannah woke up 3 times last night. She's just decided that instead of sleeping thru the night (which she was doing, and I LOVED it), she would now wake up, just to "snack".

Ugh, Matthew's being fussy, so I'd better go. Talk to you later!

OMG, where's my gas??

Well, I went to start cooking dinner tonight, and guess what?? We have no gas! Isn't that delightful. And we have no money, and won't have money until Friday. UGH. And the "best" part is that I'm not sure my husband is even coming home tonight!! He might be stuck at work tonight (he's in the Navy). So, my poor baby boy is eating a hotdog, after saying "where's dinner momma?" for the past 1/2 hour. I dunno what we're gonna do. *sigh*

He can't stay in diapers forever, can he??

Well, ok, here goes nothing. This is my first attempt at blogging, so I guess you could call me a virgin blogger.

My son Matthew is almost 3 years old, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get him potty trained. This can't go on forever, can it?? I mean, at some point in time, he will HAVE to get potty trained, right? He's just SO not interested in potty training. I ask him if he wants to go potty, and NOPE! He's perfectly content to sit in his a poopy diaper until it's falling off. HAHA. *sigh*
I've told him that he can have a treat if he poops in the potty, gets a sticker if he pees in the potty, etc, but he's just too into doing his thing to stop and go to the bathroom. Also, he doesn't like being naked, and the whole sitting on the potty w/ a bare bum freaks him out.

On the other hand, my daughter Hannah (who was born early May) can't be in a poopy/wet diaper for more than 5 minutes without throwing a MAJOR fit. Which makes for interesting times in the middle of the night when she's woken up, and in turn woken me up trying to tell me to change her.

Wow, who knew that once you became a parent, you'd have so much to talk about on the issue of poop. I can carry on an entire conversation about poop. How many times kids have gone in a day, what the consistancy is, whether it was runny or not (yea, like THAT wasn't too much information!)...anything and everything.

Well, the baby's woken up (and is crying, so obviously her butt needs changing), so I'd better sign off. Keep checking back for futher installments of the potty rebellions!!
